These Terms of Use govern your access to and use of VocabMate ("the Service"), an educational vocabulary platform for primary school children. By using VocabMate you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the Service.
VocabMate is designed for primary school children aged 5–12. Children must use the Service under the supervision and with the consent of a parent or guardian. By creating an account, the parent or guardian confirms they have the authority to agree to these terms on behalf of the child.
Parent accounts are created via Google or email sign-in through Clerk. You are responsible for keeping your account credentials secure and for all activity that occurs under your account. Notify us at hello@vocabmateapp.com if you suspect unauthorised access.
You agree not to:
All content on VocabMate — including word lists, game designs, text, graphics, and software — is the original work of VocabMate and is protected by Australian copyright law. No content may be copied, reproduced, or distributed without prior written permission.
We take the privacy of children seriously. Please read our Privacy Policy to understand what data we collect, how we use it, and your rights regarding that data. We do not collect personal data from children directly — only from the parent or guardian account.
The Service is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind, express or implied. VocabMate does not warrant that the Service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or free of harmful components.
To the maximum extent permitted by law, VocabMate shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the Service. Our total liability for any claim shall not exceed the amount you paid to us in the 12 months preceding the claim (which is $0 for free accounts).
We reserve the right to suspend or terminate access to the Service at any time, for any reason, without notice. You may also delete your account at any time by contacting us at hello@vocabmateapp.com.
We may update these Terms of Use from time to time. We will post the revised terms on this page with an updated date. Continued use of the Service after changes constitutes acceptance of the new terms.
These terms are governed by the laws of New South Wales, Australia. Any disputes will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of New South Wales.
